Access to Education

In the 21^st century, global issues compete for attention, many overshadowing the other. One of them being the lack of access towards education. Education is a fundamental right, however many still do not have access towards it due to discrimination, geographical barriers, economic inequality, and many more. Without education, people are more likely to face limited opportunities in the future. Therefore, highlighting this issue is important to ensure everyone has equal and fair access towards education.

This year, The 30^th ALSA National English Competition brings the tagline of "Bridging Access, Building Futures". This tagline reflects the belief that education is a right every individual should receive. By bridging gaps in educational access, ALSA E-Comp 2026 provides an inclusive platform for everyone to develop and showcase their skills. Not only that, through ALSA E-Comp 2026, participants are shaping a brighter future through education.

COMPETITIONS

Debate is a branch of competition where participants can practice their critical thinking and debate through certain motions. English Debate aims to sharpen analytical reasoning skills in the form of argumentation and teamwork.

E-MUN is a branch of competition that simulates assemblies held by the United Nations (UN). Participants will play the role of a delegate who will represent one UN member state each, to defend and propose solutions to international issues that are happening while defending the interests of their assigned countries.

Short Story Writing is a branch of competition where participants are given the opportunity to open their imagination and practice creativity as well as train their writing skills by writing a story.

Newscasting is a branch of competition where participants will play the role of news anchors and bring news according to the provisions that have been given. Therefore, Newscasting aims to enhance participants' skills in news delivery.

Speech is a branch of competition where participants will present a speech in English about a certain topic given by the committee. The goal of this competition is to enhance their public speaking abilities and critical thinking on a given topic.

Paper Presentation is a branch of competition where participants write an English essay and present it to the audience. Paper presentation aims to enhance participants' writing abilities while also strengthening their English presentation skills.

Spelling Bee is a branch of competition where participants must spell words in English quickly and accurately. The purpose of Spelling Bee is to train participants in hearing and spelling words in English correctly as well as enrich participants' English vocabulary.

Storytelling is a competition where participants showcase their narrative skills by performing stories in a captivating and creative manner. This competition aims to cultivate and refine the storytelling prowess of those involved. Participants are challenged to hone their skills in crafting compelling plots, developing engaging characters, and mastering the art of vocal delivery and stage presence.
